How To Find The Best VoIP Company For You!
-Joseph Heili

How I'll help you find the Voice Over Internet Protocol

As a home business owner for the past six years I saw a great opportunity to save money by switching my telephone business to a VoIP service provider, receiving calls through my computer.  I've experienced trial service from five different companies: Skype, Lingo, Phone Power, Vonage, and Magicjack.  I learned which important features make an internet phone service provider reliable and worthwhile.  The two companies I found to be the best overall were Power Phone and Lingo. However, these two companies are very different. Lingo offers the lowest monthly rate I've ever seen, but the offer is introductory and the price gets jacked up after 6 months. I would suggest buying Lingo if you intend to switch after 6 months, but not for the long haul. If you want to continue with VoIP for your business or home for more than a year, I suggest Phone Power because it has the best deal (24 months prepaid at $9/mo).  Phone Power has all of the simple bonus features that Lingo provides, but offers great advanced features that are useful for my business. They have conferencing, second-line cloning, and the price is guaranteed.

I have also included a few other VoIP providers for you to compare plans. Via Talk, Nextiva, and Skype all have cheap and affordable service.

I hope that my experience will help make your VoIP decision easier.

Phone Power!

Phone Power offers four types of service for home or small business:

  •  Standard Month-to-Month for $19.95 per month
  • 12 Month contract for $16.95 per month
  • 24 Month contract for $14.95 per month
  • 24 Month pre-pay for $199.95 (less than $9.00 per month!)

Also, all Phone Power accounts get a load of bonus features, which is what I like best about Phone Power:
  • All plans are for unlimited calling to anywhere in the United States or Canada.
  • Offers current number transferring so your phone number doesn't have to change, which is great for businesses.
  • Each customer receives 2nd line cloning for free!
  • Order now and get free activation through online orders.

 Lingo

Lingo phone service is another VoIP company like Phonepower, but it doesn't have the bells and whistles. However, Lingo offers the cheapest VoIP service I have seen at $4.95 per month for unlimited calling in the United States and Canada. However, this outrageously low price is only the introductory 6 month offer! So after the first 6 months I switched to Phone Power.

After the introductory 6 month period, Lingo offers the following services:
  • Unlimited world calling for $21.95 per month
  • Unlimited calling in North America for $19.95 per month
  • 500 minutes in North America for $14.95 per month
  • 250 minutes in North America for $7.95 per month

Lingo also offers the following bonus features:

  • 3-way calling
  • Call waiting
  • Caller ID with name
  • Voicemail

Skype

Skype is well known as a free instant messaging service, which allows users to video chat with friends who also have downloaded the program. However, an online number (SkypeIn™) is perfect if you have friends, family or business colleagues who don't use Skype. Anyone can dial your online number from any phone or mobile and your Skype rings and you pick up the call – wherever you are in the world.

Skype offers four types of service for home or small business:

  • $18.00 for 3 months
  • $60.00 for 12 years

Also, all Skype accounts get the following bonus features:
  • Friends in the same area code as your number only pay a local rate to call you – and you pay nothing to answer the call.
  • Unlimited calls to landlines as well as up to 50% off an online number with a subscription.
  • Wherever you're online the calls reach you on Skype.
